My Story
I was first introduced to pottery in 1977 by my high school teacher Eric Godman, and to this day, I still treasure the days when he let me have access to the pottery room any time the school was open, and I continue to be inspired by his pieces and techniques.
Fast forward some 40+ years, I retire from an engineering career and pick up pottery as a hobby again. I joined the North Delta Pottery Guild, and I enjoy making functional pottery for the kitchen, dining room, and garden. I am intrigued with symmetry and asymmetry, and I like to continue to explore the traditional ways of throwing, firing, and glazing.
I am honoured that my piece “My Moon Vase” won the 2025 Delta Culture Days Community Art Contest. It is on display at the Douglas J. Hubbard Discovery Centre in Ladner from November 2025 to April 26, 2026, and will be at Tsawwassen Arts Centre starting in May 2026, and then finally at North Delta Centre for the Arts in September 2026.decision we make is shaped by a clear sense of purpose. Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
