Handblown Glass- Ron Lucy

Ron Lucy raised his family in the Annieville neighbourhood of Delta and now resides in the Newton area of Surrey. Working as a Neon Tube Bender (Glass Blower) for 30 years until the advent of LED’s, sparking a career change. For the last 10 years, Ron has worked as a transit bus driver.

“I have always been fascinated with glass. Twenty five years ago I had the opportunity to work as a production coordinator at Robert Held Art Glass in Kitsilano. At the time it was the largest Off Hands Hot Glass shop in North America. I was fascinated by the skilled discipline of the glass blowers and yearned to work with hot glass.

Today, I get to pursue Off Hands Hot Glass Blowing as a hobby at Terminal City Glass Cooperative in Strathcona, Vancouver. I hope you enjoy the product of my labour as much as I do.”
